Words Have a Kind of Power

THE IMPACT OF YOUR WORDS
Have you considered the impact your words have on those to whom you speak? Do you think twice; or think once, thoroughly, about the words you say. How many times during a day do you carelessly utter something that you wished, almost immediately, you could take back. People often remark, “I wasn’t thinking when I said that.” That is no excuse. Begin the habit of thinking before you rush off those words. Words have a tendency to cut through another person. And you would have no idea the depth of the wound. Pleasant words soothe. Funny words relieve. Thoughtful words motivate. Kind words encourage.
My Friend, choose your words carefully. If you cannot say something good at the moment, pause for a moment and let that moment pass. Change the flow of awkward conversations. Redirect a life today by speaking something refreshing to someone. Exchange pleasantries with another person. Pat somebody on the shoulder, twice. Embrace yet another. Feel for others.
There is so much negativity in the world today. Imagine your impact when you share positive words with those who find themselves in your company. The challenge for each of is to make this world better for having being in it. When your life brushes by another person’s what do they remember of the conversations you had? Words don’t die off easily. They ring in the ear for many a long while.
Impact the world one person at a time. Let your words be a beautiful fragrance. Think before you speak. Avoid unnecessary arguments. Walk away from useless conversations. Allow no one to drag you into incensed communications. Do not compromise your honesty. Speak truth. Speak what uplifts and soothes. In those instances when you must express firm or harsh words do so with grace. Express dissatisfaction satisfactorily. Love much. Tolerate More. Forgive even more.
