Sing a Hymn to Lift Your Spirit

Global news the last few weeks have been sad. During times of crisis many people experience moments of despair. Still many others experience bouts of depression. You may feel helpless and darkness could envelop your spirits. It is those times that you must press on! Music has a way of flushing the spirit and lifting your countenance. When the Saints of Old wrote those hymns, they spoke from experience that in times of uncertainty it is good to know who God is. Be uplifted my friend. Sing along and let the peace of God flood your being with hope and healing tonight. Say a prayer before your eyes shut in sleep for the evening!

BLESSED QUIETNESS
              (Words by Manie P. Ferguson (1897) Music by W.S. Marshall;  James Kirk)

Joys are flowing like a river,
Since the comforter has come;
He abides with us forever,
Makes the trusting heart his home.

            Chorus
Blessed quietness, holy quietness,
What assurance in my soul!
On the stormy seas, He speaks peace to me,
How the billows cease to roll!

Bringing life and health and gladness,
All around this heavenly guest;
Banished unbelief and sadness,
Changed our weariness to rest.
            Chorus

Like the rain that falls from heaven,
Like the sunlight from the sky;
So the Holy Ghost is given,
Coming on us from on high.
            Chorus

See, a fruitful field is growing,
Blessed fruit of righteousness;
And the streams of life are flowing,
In the lonely wilderness.
            Chorus

What a wonderful salvation,
Where we always see His face!
What a perfect habitation,
What a quiet resting place!
            Chorus

Peace for Hysteria

The best way to deal with hysteria is to take God at His word, “Be still and know that I am God…” (Psalm 46:10). Do not allow yourself to remain in a constant state of extreme emotional distress. Trade hysteria for God’s peace; it’s the peace that is beyond human understanding. Substitute panic with calm. Approach Almighty God in a spirit of humility, and with reverence. Jehovah God is right where He was when the children of Israel were at the entrance of the Red Sea. God is sitting at the same place He was that day, when The Lord parted the seas and His people walked through on dry ground. As daunting as things may seem, in the name of Jesus, this too shall pass. You must hold your peace and exert your energy doing the little good you can to help and the bigger good of calling on the Name of The Lord, asking God to have mercy and compassion on all.
Personally, when I am crippled with emotions and helpless to do much substantive anything, I arise to a place of higher connect. I command my spirits to embrace a silent position in the face of God. In that prayerful place I just worship God, because in faith I expect The Lord to do what I absolutely can do nothing about. My friend, may I encourage you to let The Lord know that He is your only hope. Spend more time praying and less time mourning and groaning over the scary stuff. Talk and get things off your chest. But, PRAY MORE than you talk. Let me share some of my personal Prayer Points during this crisis period in Liberia and all affected countries. I have found that it helps and is more result-oriented when we go to God with specifics.

Pray for Godly wisdom and enlightenment for leaders and responsible authoritative figures.
Pray that minds and attitudes will be humble and submissive to receive crucial information needed to get beyond this stage.
Pray for strength and bravery—many people are very afraid. Lives are at stake.
Pray for obedience and reasonableness of the people to implement the helpful instructions.
Pray that God would soften the ‘hardheadedness’ and nonchalant attitude of the very people who need help the most.
Pray that we would each be one another’s keepers. Let’s feel the hurt of each other and bear one another’s burdens in a spirit of love.

 Do not get caught up in hysteria. We need sober minds and sober hearts to move things in the right direction. Know that when you call on the name of the Lord in the time of trouble, Almighty God has promised that He will hear you and deliver you. Remain calm and be humble. You cannot approach God with reckless attitudes, yelling and screaming and blaming and carrying on. You must approach the Lord in the beauty of holiness. The Lord is HOLY GOD always! You are asking for Mercy from the person who controls your breath and all there is—Thee One. Remember to praise God even as you approach Him with a sad and/or heavy heart. You are coming before the Creator and King of Heaven and Earth. The One who alone can speak any result to be. And the Voice of God is the ultimate force there is. Calm down. Stay Prayerful. Jesus Christ is faithful. God is Powerful Enough.

The Word of God

I say to you in the Name of Jesus ...

The Lord said, "Go out and stand on the mountain in the presence of the Lord, for the Lord is about to pass by."
Then a great and powerful wind tore the mountains apart and shattered the rocks before the Lord, but  the Lord was not in the wind. After the wind there was an earthquake, but the Lord was not in the earthquake.  After the earthquake came a fire, but the Lord was not in the fire. And after the fire came a gentle whisper. When Elijah heard it, he pulled his cloak over his face and went out and stood  at the mouth of the cave. Then a voice said to him, "What are you doing here, Elijah?"

Happy Independence Day, Republic of Liberia

LIBERIA'S 26th IS ON YOU
Congratulations on this Independence Day, Liberia. Happy Twenty-Sixth, to the people of the Republic of Liberia (ROL) and all those of Liberian heritage. May we continue as a Christian nation, a God-fearing people. One unified country cognizant of the rights of every citizen and those within its borders; tolerant of the faith and beliefs of all. Yet, unapologetically asserting a profound declaration that it is only The Almighty God (Father, Son, and Holy Spirit) which has brought Liberia this far. As a people with a proud, enviable heritage, may you pledge to never sacrifice your ethics and values as a country. Let us uphold the moral fabric of this sovereign one Nation,” Indivisible, with Liberty and Justice for all.”

ROL, you must accept responsibility for where you find yourself, the spot you now occupy, in the Roster of Nations. Liberia, accept that you have failed in more ways than one. You have failed your citizenry, your most precious possession. You have failed your babies, your youth, your elderly, your sick and helpless, the downtrodden—all your people. ROL, for a nation that is 167 years old you are wasting precious time! Liberia, haven’t you wasted enough time already? The nation that is the most powerful in the entire world is 238 years old; you are 167 years—how far behind are you? Liberia, open your eyes and seek Godly wisdom that you would contribute well meaningfully to the processes that affect your life. Your existence is being threatened while you pleasantly act sluggish. Only God can rescue The ROL. Liberia, you must turn to that God. The Lord has promised to hear you and DELIVER you. If I know anything I know that Jesus Christ is a promise keeper.
“Liberia is rich with natural resources; untapped mineral deposits around the country. … A country’s natural resources are God’s natural blessings to all generations of that land. A country’s rich natural resources should translate to economic success for the people of that nation. It is blessed wealth to be enjoyed by every citizen.”  Hortense Duarma Grimes, "She Shall Stand"
Liberia, reject ignorance, disease, and poverty. Regardless of who serves it in silver platters edged with empty, elaborate gestures; reject Ignorance, Disease and Poverty. Liberia, say NO to terror. Say NO to hate and prejudice. Liberia, say NO to racism (negro and non-negro descent), tribal dissension, ethnic cleansing, clandestine interference, and ungodly influences. Absolutely say NO to violence—Violence of any forms, shape or type. ROL, set priorities and stop dispensing time and energy on compounded nonsense. Embrace education, information, communication, and innovation. Embrace the reality of basic infrastructure and sanitation, technological advances, healthcare, and human dignity. Embrace good, vibrant leadership, transparency, equality, and fairness. Liberia, reject loud verbosity and hollow grandiose promises that’s aimed only to lined new pockets. Republic of Liberia, seek the face of Almighty God, that the Lord would bring this nation to its expected end.
On this 167th birthday of this nation, Liberia should not be embroiled in a plague-like crisis, compounded by abject poverty, filthy conditions and sewage-infested rainy waters consuming its precious resources, the people. When the bad outweighs the good in any situation, that situation is not good!
As you celebrate and merry make on this day, ask yourself, “What kind of Liberian am I?”
Vow to do your part and lift Liberia to a place of prominence in the eyes of God and the world.

Friendly Reminder...

Just a REMINDER:  Display the Cross somewhere in your home. If you don’t have one, go to the store and buy one (or make one) and place it anywhere in your home. All we can do is obey Jesus. The Lord alone knows everything.
As a rule, I never add my own piece to any prophetic messages Jesus gives me; I deliver it like HE instructs. But, this time, may I add a personal plea:  Christians, it is time to be vigilant in your walk. Announce which side you are on—Jesus Side. Own the Cross and all it represents. The Cross is your badge as a follower of Jesus Christ. Put your identifier in your home. Just in case…my friend.
Blessings, today! Enjoy the sunshine. God made it for you.

Reflect on Scripture ...

O, that People would Give Attention to God. That mankind would pay attention to the Lord. O, that we would take seriously the charge to respect Jesus Christ and revere God. O, what a different planet ours would be.

“When our sons shall be as plants grown large in their youth and our daughters as sculptured pillars hewn like those of a palace; When our garners are full, affording all manner of store, and our sheep bring forth thousands and ten thousands in our pastures; When our oxen are well loaded; when there is no invasion [of hostile armies] and no going forth [against besiegers—when there is no murder or manslaughter] and no outcry in our streets; Happy and blessed are the people who are in such a case; yes, happy (blessed, fortunate, prosperous, to be envied) are the people whose God is the Lord!”  (Psalm 145:12-15 Amplified Bible)

JESUS said:
"Tell Christians, and ALL who desire to know me:  Go and get a cross and place it in your home. So Says God."

Monday Monday You are Welcome ...

Enjoy today! Monday is not as bad as you think. It's like an old car. If you are a Liberian, you remember how easy it was for the car battery to died; and how easy it was to restart it by having several people push the car while someone sat in the driver's seat trying to control the steering wheel. (I am laughing at the memory right now). That's how Monday is. Don't feel too bad, your week will continue uneventful and with much joy. Sit in the driver's seat. Summons courage, strength, tenacity, humor, Godly wisdom, and drive yourself out of that blah. Life is for living...Make this day worthwhile. If you haven't prayed yet; it’s not late. Stop for a minute and call on Jesus. The Lord has been waiting all morning to hear you say, "Thank you Father for another day. Jesus, I need you now more than ever. Please take over my day, and my life. I love you Lord. Amen."

God bless you, my friend. Joyful! Joyful to you.

Sunday Afternoon Tea

One of the best things a Christian can do for oneself is be connected to a strong church. By strong I mean, “A church that has its strength in the Word of God—the Bible. A church which is grounded in the teachings of Scripture. A church which has a Shepherd (the Pastor) who is tightened to the Gospel of Jesus Christ—a Pastor who unapologetically exclaims that the one and only way to God is Salvation through Jesus Christ.” Today, again, Pastor Wayne K. delivered one of the most soul-stirring gospel proclamations I have ever heard!

FIND A BIBLE BELIEVING, TEACHING CHURCH. Begin preparing your soul by eating, feasting, swallowing, chewing, absorbing, consuming, the Word of God.

A Soldier Has Retired

IN MEMORY OF A FRIEND
Soldier, when I heard the news you'd made Sunday, June 22, 2014, I was left speechless. For a couple of days I could not fully process the information. I kept thinking out loud, the vineyard is full; the harvest so plentiful; and at this time, this crucial period, The Master calls home a working, functioning, servant? A marching soldier! The Master retires a servant who boldly, loudly, proclaims the name Jesus? I was left speechless at your news, Soldier.
Soldier, you must have impressed the Master. The King found you ready for eternal kingdom work! Soldier, heaven needed you! The kingdom of heaven must have wanted a worker from the other side of heaven. The Celestial Kingdom above the expanse must have been missing a gem from below the expanse.
Soldier, ride on to glory! When you get there, wear your crown. I say, Soldier, put on your robe! Run around the gates; see it all for yourself. Soldier, your work is complete. Oh(!) Soldier, you stand face to face with the Radiance of earth and heaven; Thee One, who lights up the universe. Soldier, I can see you looking in amazement! Yes, Soldier, that is you! You have made it to Glory.
It’s you, Soldier. You have arrived. Heaven wanted you at this moment. Soldier, march onto Him who sits on the throne. Enjoy the ride on the wings of Jesus Christ, your Savior. Now, you can see the Lord in HIS FULL GLORY. Now you understand what happened.

Rev. Theo Allen, Soldier in the Army of the Living God, is now retired to Glory. We salute your memory, my dear fellow soldier in the fight. Rest in Peace, with Jesus.
