Hymn Of The Month

MY FAITH LOOK UP TO THEE *

My faith looks up to Thee, Thou Lamb of Calvary,
Savior divine!
Now hear me while I pray, Take all my guilt away;
O let me from this day
Be wholly Thine.

May Thy rich grace impart, Strength to my fainting heart;
My zeal inspire;
As Thou hast died for me,
O may my love to Thee,
Pure, warm, and changeless be
A living fire.

While life’s dark maze I tread, And griefs around me spread,
Be Thou my guide;
Bid darkness turn to day,
Wipe sorrow’s tears away,
Nor let me ever stray
From Thee aside.

When ends life’s transient dream, When death’s cold sullen stream
Shall o’er me roll;
Blest Savior then in love,
Fear and distress remove,
O bear me safe above
A ransomed soul.

We Remember You Were Here

Welcome Memorial Day USA. A day officially set aside to honor the memory of loved ones whose lives have ceased from this earth. Today, a nation honors the memory of parents, children, sons, daughters, grandparents, grandchildren, siblings, brothers, sisters, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, friends, associates, colleagues, and people we once knew who no longer walk with us. Their physical bodies have taken flight to eternity. Their spirits hushed from the earth. Their memories stored forever in our hearts.
Memorial Day! America’s national reminder that death is inevitable for every single person, at some point in time. A day often reminisced with warmth-laughter around a soft teardrop. The depth of sorrow often fades with time. Joy lingers forever. When the wreaths are laid and the tombstones are cleaned we return to living the life we know.
While today might be celebrated a bit differently than past years. It is still the Weekend which heralds the beginning of Summer time. There come the celebrations. The announcement of endless fun times, bright sunny temperature, beach wear, tank tops and flip flops. Party time, weddings and celebrations, festivities, and the whole nine yards. The times may seem different but the season’s signal is the same. Today as you remember loved ones gone, keep hope present and burning in your hearts. As long as you are alive there is assurance that circumstances will change and change for the better. Make Jesus your anchor. Pray away the sad reminders whatever they be. Hold on to the laughter however small the grin.
My friend, life is a physical journey mortals make on their way back to God the Heavenly Father. Our time of being on earth is a transitory period. We each leave a memorial track every day. Live well.
May I share with you, below, excerpts from an article I wrote commemorating Memorial Day several years ago. I love you with a sisterly love.
~Hortense

BELOVED LOVED ONES YOUR LIGHT LIVES ON
Dear world. Please hear me: Jehovah God is Sovereign! The grave has swallowed a body. The Heavens have received a soul. The soul in Christ shall live forever. Do not focus on the circumstances around you however great or lesser they may be. Establish that the Lord is a promise keeper. Acknowledge that one can count on the Lord God. Recognize that God is faithful. It is never a mistake to put all your trust and confidence in the Jesus Christ. Realize that to be a Christian is indeed a blessing! Almighty God knows what he is saying when he says come to him. My friend, analyze your life daily and make sure each day brings you a bit closer to God. Let every 24 hour-period bring you nearer to Christ the Solid Rock. Scripture tells us God is perfect, his way is perfect, and he is a shield for all those who trust in him. Psalm 18:30 is one of my favorite Bible verses.
As you celebrate with picnics and burgers and fun and laughter throughout this weekend! Remember that someone’s precious life was cut short trying to give you the privilege of enjoying the freedom we have today. Someone fought that you would be free to spread your picnic baskets wherever you chose, grill whichever kind of meat you choose, tell jokes however you want to, and laugh as loudly as feel like. Today we remember the men and women who give their all fighting for freedom and justice for all.
In Blessed Memory of those who have gone on before. Collectively, we remember beloved loved ones who no longer walk these earthly streets. We pause to light a candle honoring their memory. We could all agree, each of us is a better person today, because someone took the time to “parent” you, one way or another. They loved us, nurtured us, birthed us, groomed us, cared for us, educated us, steered us, bettered our lives, and made countless other sacrifices for us. But for that dear one of blessed memory, we wouldn’t be the women and men we are. In their memory we who are left on this earth, collectively, light this candle. May their Rest in Eternity be good.

Day Weave In Night Weave Out

Wonderful world. Beautiful people. I pray you are enjoying a marvelous weekend. I’m thinking of you and wanted to write you a letter. Again. I realize the ton of material I’ve written to bless humanity cannot just wait dormant. I’ve got to share it and tell it and write it and say it and speak it and let the seeds germinate. While I wait, expectantly, for a publisher to discover the gem in my work and sign me on to write marvelous books. While I wait, for that Network executive to realize there is an audience for faith-based inspirational content, prompting them to place orders for scripts. While I wait, for the day I will sign on the dotted line on a contract to bring unique motivation to your television screen and deliver awesome programming. While I wait, best of all, to someday own a communications station broadcasting globally, catering especially to my African people, who need all the upliftment and empowerment they could get. Ahh… my friend. One day my heavenly father, the impeccable Creator, will blow my mind and these “big big” dreams he has placed in me will become loud reality. I promise to share with you then as I’m doing now. Me and You in this thing for the duration.
Meanwhile, I keep publishing on this HIBlog to bring a ray of sunshine to your space. Never mind I will have to “go there” sometimes. Talk about things you’d like to hear about. Talk about things you’d rather not know about. Push you to discover the better version of yourself—the version found in Jesus Christ and Him crucified. Glory! The version that sin often sneaks in to harass and then shade you afterwards. Whatever the topic, I’ll always publish something for you. Know beyond a shadow of a doubt I love you with a sisterly love. My wish is for you to live the abundantly happy life Christ has made possible for you.
My greatest joy comes from making others happy. If my writing can change your countenance every so often, then gladly will I always deliver, free of charge, reading material to the beautiful people of the world. God said we are to love, share and be one another’s keeper. Besides, it’s like my heavenly father has drilled a bottomless well in my spirit and filled it deeply. The more I write the more I want to write. The more I determine ways to capture creatively the message of the Jesus-gospel the more the Holy Spirits teaches me expressions—things to say and ways to say it, etcetera, etcetera. Hallelujah!
The article below was written one mid-morning in 2014 while the troubles of this world thought it could frustrate me. As always, I felt joyful and blessed to see another day. I recall it was then two weeks before I would finally lose my gorgeous home. Medical issues had brought on disability for several years and disrupted my livelihood. All negotiations and other efforts had failed and I would soon have to give up the house to the Bank. If I may note here, the complex, crazy-laborious procedures of Loan Modification exhausted me and I had had it up to my wit's end. That process was something else to endure... the main people who benefited from that “for the most part 419 scheme” was the fax machines. What! That’s a whole different story for another day. All said and done, I wasn’t looking forward to the coming weeks. Who wants to be “technically” homeless! Lord have mercy. Anyway! All this is long since behind me. Glory! Glory! But this one thing I knew: Heaven and earth may pass away but my God shall see me through. Jesus would make a way, of that I was certain. Somehow. And by golly! God did it. I am still here. Aren’t I? Certainly. Hallelujah!
Let me tell you another juice from the losing-my-home saga. On the day of turning over the keys to the Bank’s realtor, I won a soul to rededicate her life to Christ. Here’s how it happened. I asked the lady if she’d like to join me in prayer. She timidly said okay. I began to pray and profusely thank God again for giving me the chance to live in a house many could only dream of. I prayed for the next owner who would occupy that gorgeous residence. I prayed that the realtor would quickly sell it so she could get the commission. (She’d earlier shared with me being unable to sell properties in her real estate portfolio and was in financial straits from lack of commission income.) I praised and glorified the Lord for every circumstance that had brought me to that stage in my life. The prayer ended. I had no crying left in me that day, but the realtor cried her eyes out. She said tearfully to me, “I have never met anyone like you. How can you be losing so much and still pray to God like this? I've never seen this before. Where do you get such strong faith?” She continued, “I believed in the Lord as a child, but I've stopped. You have made me return to trusting God.”
Did you hear what I just narrated to you? My friend. My heart somersaulted. Hallelujah! Now you tell me was it a winning situation or what? Dare I say. JESUS. Yessss!!!
Okay, let me get back to the main story. My two passions in life are prayer and helping hurting people. It is my constant prayer that God would use me daily to always help make someone feel better and let in a ray of bright light during the many seasons of life. An old Christian chorus we sang at Revival in Liberia goes like this: “Let Jesus fix it for you, for he knows just what to do; And when you pray, let him have his way; Let Jesus fix it for you.” Amen.
My friend, we feed off one another. I know the times are dreary for most people. I know it can be tiresome staying indoors as day and night weave in and out. Do me a favor, stay strong. Be well, remain calm and watch this nightmare end. You will soon return to the normal way of life. Or you will return to the new normal God has in store for you. In closing, be reminded the article below was written during one of the worst periods of my life. My song refused to die then or now and my God is forever glorified. I wish you same. Oh how I wish you the same ever living song! ~Hortense *

A SUNNY KIND OF SHINE THIS AUGUST MORNING
Good morning, My Friend. What a joyous morning. I looked out to find that flawless stream of light is the sun shining brightly through the window! I looked up at the gorgeous blue sky flawlessly speckled with the most breathtaking white clouds. I revel in my belief that I am gazing at the flowing bottom of God’s long white robe billowing down from the majestic heavenly Throne where my Heavenly Father is seated. The Throne from where my father, The King of Heaven and Earth, sits timelessly to watch and rule and orchestrate the events of my life. And your life, too.
I get excited that my Father knows all about me. And you, too. I get super-excited that I am in such exceptional, perfect hands. Oh! I feel an adrenaline rush that the merry sunshine was released this morning to brighten my day and keep me warm. And you, too! I do not have to shudder from the events of life; regardless what today plans for me. I am not fazed by whatever life have in store for me today. I’ve got Jesus! I am enveloped by The Lord and surrounded by the splendor of God’s handiwork—creation. And you are, too! I am thrilled when I consider that my Father, the Almighty God, has put me in charge of everything He created in this earth. And you are, too. Oh! I am excited about today. I excitedly look forward to today. What about you?
I walked away from the window and began my Prayer Time and Devotion. My Bible reading was from the Book of the prophet Jeremiah. A particular Scripture verse kept standing out. I want to share it with you. My friend, you truly have no cares. Be committed to God. When you wake up in the morning, pledge to be excited about Jesus. Before the day even presents its agenda for you choose that your answer will be, “Yes Lord, I say Yes to Your Name.” You are the reason for everything God does. God does it all so that you would reflect HIS GLORY. God sets life in motion so that you would be made perfect for Him. God permits life events to come your way so that you would sift through it and shed “your flesh” to focus on living forever, in eternity, with Him. God allows life to happen to you so that you would grow under His bright love. Just like a sunflower. God allows life to happen around you so that you would recall Just Who Your Father Is. So that you would respect that God is Jehovah Sabaoth. That same God is Jehovah Shalom.
You must stand firm in this life. God put you in control of everything He made. God made life. You are in charge of everything God created. And God created everything. The Lord has authority over everything. Speak to life. Tell life “In the Name of Jesus! My friend, just a little while longer and you would be where the sun rays originate from. You would not need to gaze at the clouds. You would be standing in the very presence of Him who sits on The Throne! You would be warm forever by The SON rays that never stop beaming.
Here is God’s WORD: “If you have raced with men on foot and they have worn you out, how can you compete with horses? If you stumble in safe country, how will you manage in the thickets by the Jordan?” (Jeremiah 12:5 Holy Bible NIV)
I say to you, “In the name of Jesus go out and face life today!"

Parasite Begone

Good evening beautiful people. I pray you are well and staying strong. Continue in prayer. Pray to Almighty God in the name of Jesus Christ. Sometimes we stand in the path and block our own blessings. One way is by living and behaving contrary to God’s standards. We grieve the spirit of God when we fall short of his way. But there is help from God and all is not lost. Glory!
My friend. Get rid of sin and filth and stain and grime; things that have caulked your soul. Sin is an insurmountable barrier between your prayer and God’s ear. Only Christ can remove that barrier. Ask Jesus to fix you. Say a prayer and request the Lord to come in and forgive your sins, clean out the filth, cleanse the stains, and remove the grime from your life. It’s that simple. Christ the Savior of the world died on The Cross to purchase freedom and redemption for you. When it comes to being special in God’s eyes you are it. Hallelujah!
Almighty God is the supreme ruler of heaven and earth. There has never been a time when God the Creator appointed man his advisor. Yes, God talks to man. God the Holy Spirit speaks to man the created being. God may keep conversations with a person who has a relationship with him. There will never be a time when man will overrule the authority of God. God Almighty can never ever ask mortal man to stamp their approval before his will can be carried out. It is impossible for the Creator to rely on the creature to run creation. Jehovah God is vast—eternal—before time—after time—INFINITE. You and I are but a mere dew drop, a dust particle. Here today dead tomorrow. God Almighty is INDESTRUCTIBLE. God has the final say. He is Jehovah.
The God of heaven and earth is sovereign. He gives us free will to choose and God accepts our choices. God gets angry at our sin, but shows us great mercies when we repent of sin. Almighty God graciously gives us grace to find our way back to him. Our father God loves us all the way back to him through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ. The Heavenly Father is generous to restore mankind from where sin dumps us off.
The unending grace and unlimited mercies of a loving God should not imply that mankind could manipulate God to behave and perform like mortals do. On your best day you do not belong in the fold of a perfect God, but for Jesus. Oh wretched sinful humans that we are! Who could stand before a holy and perfect God? We could never substitute a pure, righteous, without blemish, excellent Omnipresent, Omniscient, Omnipotent God. Even so Lord Jesus…Hallelujah!
Jesus, the one who perfects mankind! Make repentance your foreword and prayer your first chapter. Hallelujah! We can pray. God can move his hand for mankind. Jehovah God can shake the heavens and command adverse powers to cease operation. When we pray and trust God for his divine intervention, God will move for mankind. When we believe we shall see God’s glory and majesty manifested in the grave circumstances of life. Even so, with the turbulent times in our world today.
I could never say this enough to you: We just have to pray this menace, pestilence, plague, evil disruption called Coronavirus-COVID19 away from the earth. You have the power to deactivate this parasitic RNA that has run amok around the globe. Set your trigger by prayer.

I guess all I am saying is this: You and I had better get serious and committed about prayer. Finite, limited minds that we are… LET US PRAY MORE. Therein lies the breakthrough we are expecting worldwide.
Have a wonderful day and a joyous weekend. I love you with a sisterly love.

P.S. By the way, my friend, have you accepted Jesus Christ into your life as Lord and Savior? If you have not, you are headed straight to Hell on a nonstop flight to spend eternity with wicked Satan and his hideous demons. God desires exceedingly more than that for you. I personally wish you would reconsider and place your life in Jesus hand. Place your faith in Christ. Whoever you are, whatever you may have done or haven’t done, however your life may look like; there is absolutely nothing that you could do that would make God to reject you. You are loved unconditionally by your Creator. Almighty God desires all of you which include all the rights you do and all the wrongs you do. That’s why Jesus is the Salvation plan. Pray and believe the Son of God who gave his life for you.

Evening Thoughts Black-Styled

Hello people.  Earlier tonight I was preparing for ending the day and shifting to Night Watch prayer time. I had turned briefly to make a few related Facebook postings and quick update on my timeline. Without effort my brain began shifting to thoughts of my black people. The people who all share the same skin color and race as I. Black people everywhere, this post is about you.  Soon after I had noted those thoughts and quickly written a posting, I said to myself "I think this is something for the Blog as well.” Please Read. Let me know your thoughts, not by replying me but by your taking action to economically elevate you, so that going forward you are no longer assumed to be inferior.  Below are my thoughts from earlier tonight. ~Servant Hortense

HORTENSE Late Night Musings...
I hesitate to post this raw as it is in my thoughts real time. This has just now dropped in my spirit and keeps bringing itself to the front of my mind. So here we go...from my head to your head:
When this “Coronavirus-Pandemic-Lockdown” is over BLACK people must begin immediately working smart and extremely hard to bring economic capacity to ourselves so that we can be taken seriously once and for all. Use this quarantine period of inactivity to stimulate your thoughts on avenues and routes that elevate you from the position of “assumed” inferiority to equal status and superior recognition. It is in the economics, my friend!
Be at the table when the giants meet to discuss. Be at the table when the giants lay out the plans. Be at the table when the giants enforce the agenda. THE ECONOMIC TABLE. Look for it. Find it. Assert yourself there. There, the place of economic equality.
If Black people want to be taken seriously we have got to assert ourselves economically. Think and Do. Strategize your game until you are in charge of where you find yourself. Finally put it in God’s hand to show you creative ways out of the financial and economic bondage. Pray and Focus. God did it with Negro Spirituals for the slaves. God can do it for you. First of all the streets of Heaven are paved with gold. God is in the financial business.

Do Something About This Thing

Hello my friend. I have been thinking about you as usual. I had some thoughts to share which I hope would encourage you to persevere and get through this period. As you may have read or heard me mention before, my calling to Ministry was a miraculous Divine encounter. Almost twenty-one years ago Heaven touched my realm. And Jesus Christ tapped me for God’s Kingdom work. The mandate was “proclaim the Word of God; speak to the hurting people…; encourage them about the power of prayer, the Word of God, and guidance by the Holy Spirit; motivate all people to develop an intimate relationship with Jesus Christ.” Over the last twenty years, through total reliance and complete surrender to God’s plan, albeit slowly, I would learn that the ultimate gift a person can give oneself is to develop an unfaltering habit of prayer. My friend, when you pray, the “Word” becomes flesh in you and the “Spirit of God” consumes you. It is then that you are fully equipped to handle what we call LIFE. It may seem I push prayer down my throat and if I have my way down your throat, too. Never mind. It is because I am 1000 percent certain that prayer is the answer to life. I love you too much to keep a good secret from you. Prayer is how you do life. Prayer is remedy for life. Prayer is how to function in life. Prayer is how you live life. Prayer works.  Turn your eyes upward and watch God move. ~Hortense

THINKING OF YOU
How is your day going? How are you holding up? I pray every day is getting a bit easier. I pray your tolerance has increased and the lockdown is not wearing you down. My wish for you is that you are coping well. Please know and believe this period of uncertainty will go away. The times will change and the season will shift. What’s important is that you take the necessary precaution, stay focused on being alive and incorporate prayer into your schedule.
The Creator has designed a way for open access to the Throne upon which he sits. Perched above the universe the Most High God has a microscopic view and laser-sharp vision over every occurrence on the face of the earth, under the earth, into the deep, every realm in the heavens, below the bottom of the ocean and even the bottomless pits of hell itself lie open to his glare. Hallelujah! Seated at the Creator’s Right Hand is the avenue which is that access. Jesus Christ. Glory Glory Glory! The crucified and resurrected Christ who ascended back into heaven is the open access to the Throne of the Most High God. Hallelujah! Pray in the name of the Son and it is parachuted straight to the Father. My friend, that is faith and without faith it is impossible to please God.
The Bible says, "Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. For by it the elders obtained a good report.” (Hebrews 11:1-2 Holy Bible KJV)
In a world used to going its own way and having its own say faith is often misplaced and God is often ignored. Oh the folly of a faulty mankind…Oh the arrogance of a flawed humanity! The Creator still owns the universe. It is his handiworkHallelujah! People everywhere. However you may view God now is not the time for debates on theology, religiosity, intellectual arguments or whatever else! The earth needs the intervention of the Creator. The earth is silent. The world has grind to an almost complete halt. The globe is going around and round and getting nowhere fast enough. For many, never in our lifetime have we seen something like this. In my West African voice,  Chay…huhm this one full up my mouth oh… Chay! My people.* Jesus can help us win this one. Prayer can be our ally. The name of Jesus is a mighty refuge and strong tower. The world urgently needs a quick fix and permanent solutions. The Lord has never lost a battle.
We need help urgently. Again let me speak in my Liberian colloquial run on sentences voice. In today’s happenings where nobody can tell you anything straight—where Science is changing from one minute to another—where intellectualism got you more confused than ever—powers that be all of a sudden are looking less and less powerful by the second—the places we tend to look first are all looking clueless—only sure thing we can do is stay inside and sit down one place or walk around outside half disguised—* Oh! Lord have mercy. Jesus please come to our rescue. Holy Spirit please help perfect our prayers to reach the Father's ears.
Almighty God loves you. The evil menace upon the earth today is not from God. God did not send this killer virus. Jehovah is all powerful and totally in control of all destinies. God has a permissive will and it is within his legitimate rights to allow any type of event to occur. We live in a fallen world. Strange things will fall on creation from time to time. The consolation is our God loves us enough to remove dangers from our path. If you confess your sins and come to Him asking anything God will do it. Jesus told us this. The word of the Lord is truth.

Christ has died that we would be free from the strongholds and bondage life can attach to us. No matter the transgressions God can forgive us. No matter the iniquities past, present or future God can forgive us. No matter what we have done or have not done, God is loving, forgiving, kind and merciful. God is generous. Almighty God loves his children beyond our ability to comprehend it. If we come together in prayer, one prayer at a time, our loving Heavenly Father will hear us and the Most High God will heal our land and heal our world. Life will return to normal. The normal God has in store for you is waiting for you. Do not lose hope. Never despair.
“If ye abide in me and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will and it shall be done unto you. Herein is my father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; so shall ye be my disciples.” (John 15:7-8 Holy Bible KJV)
The Creator stands above the universe waiting to hear from the creatures. Call on God. Pray up to the Lord. Almighty God has no gain nor does he benefit from untold sufferings on his children. The Most High God is Creator of the Universe. May I remind us all, God has not turned over the administration of earth to mortals. Jehovah is still God Almighty. The Omnipotent. The Omnipresent. The Omniscient. May we seek the Lord God now. The best way is through prayer, by which we worship God for his gracious goodness and implore him for his mercies. My friend. I submit to you there is a remarkable dynamic power in prayer that you will never know until you tap into it.
I love you with a sisterly love. Every day I pray for you that we may soon come together again. Remain calm. Stay well and be at peace.

Mother's Day 2020

To all the women who wake up every single day and mother one way or another. To all the women who have birthed a child or nurtured a child or held a hurting child or loved a wayward child or simply made the world better for one of God's precious jewels, the children... Not only do I join in celebrating you, from one woman to another I SALUTE YOU. Make every child your child and love them.

Like a Car Kind of Trust

My Friend. Do not let up on your prayer. Do not let loose your grip on prayer. Be more vigilant. Ask Jesus to keep you near the cross. Pray more. I wanted to write a note to you about unfailing trust in God despite the reality of the times we find ourselves in today. I thought of an earlier message I had written and shared in a Facebook post about trusting a car. Thankfully, I found it. I decided to share this with you. It was written one late night as I lay awake contemplating the loving grace and mercy of Almighty God. There I was a stranger in a West African country, on a mission being obedient to the calling of God. It taught me about simple faith. My friend, I had to learn to trust God like I would trust an automobile. I had to learn that obedience is better than sacrifice, and obedience is always about letting go and allowing Jesus Christ to take control. I had to learn the hard way that without faith it is impossible to please God. When I totally let go of my doubts and fears and allowed God to possess me and take complete control of my life, I was lifted to a higher level of faith and trust. Allow me to share this thought with you. May you rekindle your faith in the Lord. Almighty God is faithful and unfailing in His love for you. Place your entire faith, trust and confidence in the sufficiency of God. Jehovah El Shaddai. ~Hortense

MIDNIGHT THOUGHTS February 8, 2018

I know I wore you out, oh car dearest. After 14.5 years and 249K miles you were getting tired with me. The feeling was mutual. You had served me well, dear vehicle. You did very well. I could trust Miss Betsalee-Borrowed, my 1999 dark green Honda Accord. All I had to do  was jump in, start the engine and off we went. You accompanied me to work daily. Commuting from Bowie, MD to Washington D.C. From Anne Arundel to Washington D.C. Tearing down BW Parkway onto New York Avenue and smacked into the madness of rush hour, defensive driving District of Columbia style. My dear Betsalee was there for me. Then came the avalanche and the many screaming, tears streaming down my face driving. Post-divorce. Miss Betsalee Borrowed had my back. Phase Two began. Sure enough there we were gliding along Crain Highway to North 210/Indian Head zooming to I-295 North and onto Maine Avenue, bang into rush hour traffic Washington D.C. fashion. Me and ole-faithful Betsalee-Borrowed on the road for hours at a time. Oh dear car, I wore you out. You were a gem of a vehicle. You transported me well.

Such was the trust I put in an automobile. Unquestionably placing my total confidence in her ability to get me where I was going. Any day. Anytime. All the time. A mere vehicle. Fuel and windshield fluid were all I knew how to handle. Auto shops did the rest. But I trusted that piece of equipment, mechanical invention, to take me everywhere. No destination was out of her reach. Rain or shine; sleet and snow; windy or calm. And Betsalee did not let her Mama down! We were a team. We travelled.

My Friend. Can you rely on Jesus the same way? You are confident that a vehicle will take you safely. You get in the car, crank the engine and off you go. We take off. Foot on brakes. Foot on accelerator. Foot on brakes. Stop and go, go and stop, stop quickly, slow to a stop. Go. The cyclic pattern of a moving vehicle. What makes you sure it will move and stop when it should? Yet you trust. I trust. We trust a machine. You trust a crappy piece of metal, albeit polished to a shine, to get you to a destination. You place your life in a concoction of metal and plastic and steel and glass called a car. We trust the science of the process.

How about, trusting God completely! How about, placing your full assurance in Jesus Christ! How about, trusting the Lord enough to just let go and let God! Blind trust is what you must have in the Lord. Let God lead. You just follow. Allow the Holy Spirit to guide your path. Trust in the Lord God with all your heart and all your soul and all your YOU. Trust Jehovah God with your life, your lifestyle, your livelihood. Just trust. Almighty God has got you fully and mightily covered. The Lord is able and can handle you quite well. Just believe and trust the Most High God your Heavenly Father.

It’s the Third Watch of the night in my part of the world. I am about to pray now. When it is Third watch for you tonight, wake up and pray. You need to stay on your prayer footing. Here's sending much love from my end.
Blessings abundant.

Evening Thoughts of You

With Christ on the vessel, I fear not the storm. All this will soon pass and life will return to normal. In the meantime, let us each CARRY ON. The old hymn says, "We work, we work 'til Jesus comes...". We work doing the best we can every day. We all work, by loving and praying and caring for one another.
My Friend. You are doing fine. You are being brave, staying strong and keeping steady. God sees you and God cares. Jesus loves you unconditionally.
You work making a difference, however big or small, in the lives of the people who make up humanity with you. For all of this and more, I salute you, my friend. You are a wonderful presence in this world. Your being here adds value to mankind. Hold on for one more day and another and another...
Here's sending much love and God's amazing peace to calm your nerves tonight.

Your sister-friend,
Hortense

Sink Not on God's Watch

Same God, yesterday. Same God, today. Have you heard this phrase? Indeed. The God of yesterday is the same everlasting, eternal Rock of Ages God today. The spirit of the Lord God which looked upon the earth, way back before time was time, and saw that it was formless and void; the God who looked and saw that darkness was upon the face of the deep… Hallelujah! I am talking about that God. Jehovah…God the Father…God the Son…God the Holy Spirit…Elohim. That same identical God is still God today. Glory! Glory! Glory! Now shout Glory one more time. Hallelujah. Amen.

My Friend. Your boat will not sink as long as Jesus Christ is in it. Ask the Lord to hush the treacherous winds and waves threatening to blow you over. Remember, how he asked the disciples why they were afraid and did they still not have any faith? That same God. The one from the beginning who would become Son of Man. That same God. The compassionate, loving, kind, sin-forgiving, generous, faithful, prayer-answering, love you beyond your one hundred thousand faults— I mean that same eternal God. Yes. Our Father which art in Heaven. The one whose name is hallowed. Turn all situations over to the Lord in faith and watch the Master calm the tempest that creep up in your life.

The Bible speaks about how the unexpected storm, with violent winds and waves immediately stopped, and the sea was completely calm when Jesus spoke. Is He not God of earth and sky and sea? That He is. Hallelujah! Jesus Christ spoke to the demons of the sea as they raged relentlessly to capsize the boat carrying the living God, Creator of the universe. The powers of darkness be they in human form or spirit form have no fear. Evil aka Wickedness is brash and bold. But the Master never backs down from protecting those under his watch and in his care. My friend, your protection is in Jesus. Jesus can speak and silence the raging bullies, whatever they may be. Covid19 or Corona virus or whatever name the pits of hell have named itself. Jesus Christ has spoken to it today and he has said to it "Shut up and be quiet. My children need their peace".

The only thing which gives the enemy, the devil, power over you is sin. Much as we all hate to hear this three letter word s-i-n; sin is a blockage between our prayers and God. Sin stands in the way of your prayer being heard and answered. Each child of God is a dynamite manipulator. We can shatter the power of evil and darkness just by speaking it to be. Turn over the sin in your life by confessing it to God and ask forgiveness. You may then carry on with your prayer. The Lord loves you. You are good enough just as you are, but you first must tell God you’re sorry for your sins, repent, and ask him to hear your cry. Individually. Nationally. Globally.

The prayer of the righteous, because of the sacrifice of Calvary, will cause Heaven to fight for planet earth. The righteous includes you, who believe in the transforming power of Almighty God. Our righteousness is in Christ. You who have faith like a tiny mustard seed. Do you want your world back to normal? Pray and ask Almighty God to end the pandemic. Pray for those who do not believe that prayer can quicken the return to normal. Pray for those who think God is powerless and has no control over whether the pandemic ends or thrives. Pray for those who have no sight yet. Pray for those who believe that it by human strength alone. Pray that God would open the eyes of the many blind among us that they may see the light of Christ shining even now. Pray in love. Love in prayer. Your love covers a multitude of unbelief. Your faith will stretch and cover the doubts of many. Your prayer will move God’s hand. Together let us stand up and ask the Lord Jesus Christ to halt the madness. Let us rise and reclaim what the enemy has stolen from our world. Pray that we may quickly get back our social freedom and reclaim our way of life. He who sits at the right hand of God the Father will intercede for mankind. That’s what Jesus does best. Glory! Remember Calvary? Remember Calvary!

Hallelujah! That same Jesus is waiting to hear you ask him to calm your uncontrollable waters. Go ahead, call on Jesus Christ. It’s as simple as a prayer. Pray with faith and pray in belief that the one who stills the water will silence this raging bully of a virus. Man made or natural science or pestilence. God has power to silence the tempest. You just need to pray and believe. Pray to the heavenly father in the name of Jesus Christ. And then keep holding tightly to your faith. Jesus, the one who quiets the storm is the same one who died on the Cross so that nothing evil would hold you captive forever. Glory! Glory! Glory!

I love you with a sisterly love. Stay well and be well. God’s got this.
